I have been in Acre a week now, safe and in high spirits, but prepared for the worst. The men and women who have sheltered me here also give me warning that the road to Masyaf is overrun by mercenaries and bandits not native to this land. What this could mean, I dread to guess.
When I first set out from Roma Ten months ago, I did so with a single purpose. To discover what our father did not. A letter, written a year before my birth, talks of a library hidden beneath the stones of Masyaf Castle. A sanctum full of invaluable wisdom.
So what will I find when I arrive there? Who will greet me? A host of evil Templars as I fear most strongly, or nothing but the whistling of a cold and lonely wind?
Masyaf has not been the home of the Assassins for almost 300 years now. Could we still claim it for our own? Are we welcome there?
Ah, I am weary of this fight Claudia. Not because I am tired, but because our struggle appears to move in one direction only. Towards Chaos. Today, I have more questions than answers. That is why I have come so far. To find Clarity. To find the wisdom left behind by the great Altair. So that I might understand the purpose of our fight, and my place in it.
Should anything happen to me Claudia, my skills fail me, or my ambition lead me astray. Do not seek retribution or revenge in my memory, but continue to fight in the search for truth. So that all may benefit.
My story is one of many thousands. The world will not suffer if it ends too soon."

Dude, you changed lots of sentences in that letter. >_> I know every single word written in that letter.
"Claudia my dearest sister,
I have been in Acre a week now, safe and in high spirits, but prepared for the worst. The men and women who have sheltered me here also give me warning that the road to Masyaf is overrun by mercenaries and bandits not native to this land. What this could mean, I dread to guess.

Alright, if you want to get down to brass tacks then so be it. How many errors did you see with my transcription? I double checked with the in-game audio and looked at the letter written in the novelization (the latter of which was quite different from both my version and yours), and found only a few things that were either omitted or changed (even in your personal transcription there).
"The women who have fed and sheltered me here..." (Accidentally omitted by me, and as it appears, you as well).
"In a letter written before my birth..."(Omitted by me)
"A host of evil Templars as I fear most strongly..." (It actually is fear. It is even in the novel, look it up).
"So that I may better understand the purpose of our fight..." (Changed by me)
"Should anything happen to me Claudia, should my skills fail me, or my ambition lead me astray..." (This was omitted by me, as I believed their grammar to be a bit off. I was under the impression that they were making a list of things, not trying to make complete sentences where they should not be.)
All in all, not a lot of changes to be made. This painting was submitted over a year ago and you are the first person to complain about the transcription of the letter. Maybe I might change it if more people were truly annoyed or angered by the changes. None of the meaning or overall tone of the letter was lost in the decidedly minor edits that were made, so I am wondering what your problem is with it.
Also, your omission of the first edit listed shows that you don't "know every single word in that letter". I'm not saying, I'm just saying.
Yeah, i had a few mistakes too, but it's because i was a bit sleepy when i wrote that... still, your description is wrong. there is no such thing as "Fearing strongly"... "feeling strongly" on the other hand, you actually could hear someone saying.
You admit that you have changed things because you thought god-knows-what... So there's no reason for you to make ME seem mistaken.
I write that same letter in my notebook when i get bored and it has no mistakes, i would try to prove it to you, but it's not really worth it since you are kinda egoistic.
Only kinda egoistic. I actually care what other people think about my paintings, but not really all that much about the descriptions, because that isn't really what matters. I just thought I would point out where I was wrong, but also where you were as well. There really isn't any more to it than that.
People change the wording of quotes all the time. Either by accident, or design. Really the only difference here is that you are the only one out of literally thousands of people to look at the artwork (and by extension, the description) and get all hot and bothered by the fact that some wording in a quote was changed. A quote by a man that doesn't exist, belonging to a faction that doesn't exist, in a world that does not exist.
So really what are we fighting about here? It is stupid, and you know it as well as I do. So lets just agree to disagree, and get back to our eggs and bacon, okay?
This. It's so beautiful. I saw the trailer too! I was thinking...if I could make a 3-chaptered story based on the trailers of AC Revelations :/ The letter...it's so motivational.
I love, LOVE the last quote Ezio says in that trailer. "My story is one of many thousands. And the world will not suffer if it ends too soon." Seriously makes me want to shed a tear, thinking we might actually see the way Ezio dies. It only makes sense, since we say him being born. The story needs to come full circle.
