This is the painting that I decided that I should use for the official contest (way better than the first idea). Should I make it to the final six entries, this will also be featured on IGN within around 10 days. It was done in a night (literally all night; about 8 hours). At first I wanted to do a city scene, but I figured out that I cannot seem to do masonry and ture architecture that well. So I sat there for the better part of a day figuring out what I scene I should go for. I think that this was the best of both worlds.

As for an overall theme, I would say that it would have to be the ongoing secret war against the Templars. Ever since the very first trailer, people have been forgetting that the game was never actually about the American Revolution, but about the Assassins and Templars. The war (and the events related to it) are merely a backdrop to the real meat of the game.

This is a thought provoking piece. There is an element of serenity in the picture, with the snow and the lights in the windows, though that changes when you see the assassin standing, or walking, up on the rooftop. There are birds flying away from the scene and what appears to be damage to the roof. The smoke is well done and looks quite real. I can only imagine the battle that is happening on the other side of the house. Without showing that side of the house, you leave the viewer to only guess what could be happening and encouraging them to make up their own minds. Very well done!

This is an awesome work. I am absolutely in love with assassins creed in it self and you have definitely captured the feel wonderfully. Your color choice is great. the birds really do add to the composition. I really like the cabin the perspective is great and it helps you tell the story. =D
The few things i think that could be improved on is some of the snow detail. very minor. I think adding more fine snow on the cabin, like in-between the cracks might be interesting. I agree with a previous critique that the light from the windows should look like its coming from the shape of the glass. and could affect some of the area around it. Last thing and this is probably just me but i feel like the actual assassin is just a tad to big. I feel like if he was just a bit smaller it would make the cabin look bigger and more of a character in the scene if that makes sense.
You did a great job. I think for those fans like me of assassins creed we know the back story and maybe just why donor or other person is on the roof of this cabin. keep up the great work!

Although central heating did not exist at the time, the chances of multiple fireplaces (as this is a multi-floor house) generating enough heat to melt the snow on the roof is pretty good. Plus, the house is burning down from the inside, so that would generate a good deal of heat on its own. So therefore, no, there would probably not be snow on the roof. At least, not in large quantities as you see here.
